The House Of Mercy and Encouragement Foundation, Inc. began in 2006 with a sole employee, Dolores Mortimer. Since then, HOME has been steadily growing, welcoming professionals from a variety of specializations and backgrounds to our team. We’re proud of everyone who dedicates their time and talent to helping children and family here at HOME!

Allen Mortimer

President & Co-Founder

Allen Mortimer is a retired Pinellas County Schools administrator in the offices of research and evaluation and school board policy. He has a PhD in educational research and evaluation and a master’s degree in engineering from the University of South Florida. He also has taken post-graduate courses at the University of Central Florida. He taught classes for the University of South Florida and was a middle school teacher in Hillsborough County. He is co-founder of the House Of Mercy and Encouragement. He is responsible for many of the business operations of the non-profit. He is married to his lovely wife Dolores and they have three children.

Lindsay Celidonio

Director of Operations

As our Director of Operations and a dedicated team member since 2010, Lindsay plays a vital role in keeping things running smoothly. She warmly greets everyone who walks through our doors and manages key areas including billing, outreach, and administration. As the niece of our founders, Allen and Dolores Mortimer, she carries on their legacy with dedication, care, and a deep commitment to our mission.

Susan O'Neil

LMHC
Clinical Director

Susan is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor. She graduated from the University of South Florida with her Masters in Counseling and a graduate certificate in Play Therapy.

Susan has been an LMHC for over 30 years and has worked with children, families and adults in a variety of settings.She has been with HOME 2017.

Through the years, Susan has worked with people of all ages who are coping with grief, loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, low self worth and codependency. She believes in using a holistic approach which looks at the mind, body and spirit to help each individual heal and grow.

Winnie Holland

LMHC
Counselor

Winnie Holland, MPH, MA, LMHC, has been with the House of Mercy and Encouragement for over a
year and she is excited to be able to serve the children and adults of HOME. In addition to individual
counseling, Winnie enjoys working with groups (especially children). Prior to coming to HOME she
worked for a community mental agency in northeast Florida on an integrated health model as well as an
evidence based mental health program working with seriously mentally ill clients. A graduate of the
University of Florida, USF, and Florida Gulf Coast University, Winnie worked in various counties
throughout Florida in public health and also assisted the Department in crisis counseling during disasters
until her retirement from the State.

M'rissa Rosenthal

Art Instructor

M’rissa Rosenthal facilitates the art activities for the children and teenagers at HOME. She considers it a privilege to encourage the youth to experiment and make discoveries with various art materials to express themselves.

Painting and artistic expression has been a part of M’rissa’s life for as long as she can remember. She studied art and painting at Syracuse University. Her love of the outdoors led her naturally into plein air painting. She works with oils, acrylic, watercolor and various drawing mediums. She has continued her education in plein air workshops and received a scholarship in Sedona, AZ.

M’rissa’s work has been displayed in various local galleries. She is a member of the Creative Artist Guild of Dunedin and she also teaches at Painting with a Twist.

Ana Gutierrez

LMHC
Counselor

Ana is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and working towards her Registered Play Therapist credentials. During her studies at Stetson University, she received additional training and certification in the university’s Play Therapy program.

She works with children and adolescents using play therapy and expressive art modalities, focusing on a strengths-based approach with both her clients and their families. She feels it is important to meet the client where they are at in their own worldview and often uses kids’ and teens’ interests as a catalyst for their journey towards growth. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, Association for Play Therapy, Florida Counseling Association, and Florida Association for Play Therapy.
